what does it mean when there is no whois information on a domain name? I go to internic.net and it says it on many names I am looking up.

it will tell you what whois to use. OR domain was registered less than 48 hours ago.

The whois at Internic only identifies the registrar and the nameservers. You need to use a full featured whois to get the actual registrant information.
