The much talked about new gTLD, .NYC launched yesterday and at the end of the first day, there were 26,853 domains registered.
The extension already had 6,398 domains in the zone files at the end of Landrush period. So, the total number of domains registered within the first 24 hours of General Availability were 20,455.
.NYC which stands for New York City, and the domain can be registered only by individuals and businesses with a physical address in the New York City.
.Nyc currently ranks 17th on the list of new gTLDs according to the number of registrations.
