I am considering selling my domain name OAL.com.

I haven’t checked with you guys in a while so before I put it out there I would be interested in what you think it is worth. I received a $35,000 offer last year that I turned down- but this is this year.

Also, I am interested in what you think is the best place to list it. Are SEDO and GreatDomains still Hot?

This is a possibilty of being a typo of Aol.com this also has key letters in it. You were best of turning it down Ill give reseller value at $50,00-$70,00

End user $100,000- 125,000

Great name, especially for an "AOL" typo. I would shoot for at at least $50,000 though $35,000 does sound appetizing.

I would list it with GreatDomains and park it at sedo.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention the traffic. It gets a fairly consistant 15,000 uniques a month.

35K is a fair offer I think, it will take time to get an offer that is significantly higher, because that is what you are really looking for if you turn down 35K..The traffic is good, but not worth more than 35K...

$35K is totally reasonable. IMO, you should have taken the $35K. I would also say that $35K is on the high end for this domain, and I could see it fetching substantially less.

IMHO, unless someone really needs these letters (an ideal end user) you should have taken the 35k and ran to the bank (if it was a serious offer)..theres always the danger of aol wrapping you up in expensive litigation over the typo traffic properties of this domain as well, although unlikely it could happen..Good luck either way, great name! :eek:k:

Thanks for all of your replies.

The typo problem is really no problem as long as there is no "bad faith" involved. There was a company, CDS Networks, Inc., who trademarked the letters CDS. Another company, CD Solutions, Inc., bought the domain name CDS.com. CD Solutions, Inc was allowed to use the domain name because they were involved in selling CD's and the trademark owner was involved in printing and document services.

Est $10 - $30K. $35K was a great offer IMO.

Traffic of 500/day does help a lot however!

Thanks to all of you. I have waited on SEDO for over a year now and nothing has happened in a long time. The traffic has been consistent over that time frame so I don’t expect a change there.

Would there be any reason to put it on eBay? I saw a domain P2P.com reach $111,000. Whether it actually sold is another issue. The buyer was “thecollins2.”

Any thoughts?

$75k is feasible. But you need PR and aggressive market research. Invest $2-3k in such a firm and you might get 6 figures.

Hi,
you could put it on ebay. It won't sell for what you want, but with a high reserve, it's free publicity. And that's half the battle, let people know it's out there. It really is a fantastic LLL.

Just googled 'oal', quite a few active sites using oal.domain. I don't see any major companies or buyers though. $35k is strong, but the range for 3 chars seems to be $5k-$150k...so a higher amount isn't out of the question.

3 char .com sell for anything mid $xk to $xxxk, but most sales are on the low end of that interval. I think all buyers at the high end are end users. If an end user knocks on your door anything could happen. Enduser value is highly unpredictable so let's stick to reseller value. No doubt this domain consists of three very strong letters, and 500 uniques a day should bring in a few bucks also.

With a parked RPM of $20 and a reseller willing to pay 5 years of rev my appraisal is $18k reseller value. I think anything below $15k is cheap, below $10k is a bargain.
