I am interested in your thoughts on end user values for these domain names:

OilandGasLaw.com
OilandGasLawyer.com

I realize that these are long names, but they refer to an entire area of the law, and one that is a very lucrative area of practice. I am discussing the possible purchase of the OilandGasLaw.com domain name by one Texas firm that specializes in oil and gas law. There are over 8,000 firms in Texas that specialize in this area, so the demand for the domain name would be quite substantial if the word gets out that it is for sale.

When you reply to my request, please let me know if you are a lawyer who is responding to this request, as I have a feeling that lawyers might view the value of the domain name a little differently than would other resellers.

Thanks for your assistance!!

Thanks, matt ... I will certainly keep you all posted. I'm not exactly certain what a "social attorney" is, so my confusion may be one of the reasons why you are not getting any interested buyers for the name you mentioned. By the way, I'm not a lawyer, but I have spent most of my career working with lawyers and law firms, serving as an expert witness, trial consultant, and jury selection expert. If I'm confused about the name you mentioned, I'll bet that others are, as well. Good luck finding an interested party for your domain name.

It refers to social security it receives alot of searches on keyword selector tool, so may well be a good aquisition for a firm of lawyers who specialise in this area

Thanks for your appraisal, jaik. I'm not sure I need to develop the domains, though, since I already have a substantial number of potential interested buyers ready and willing to purchase these domain names as soon as we can agree on a price. I would rather sell the domain name to one of them and THEN help him or her to develop the site by assisting them in designing a site to their specifications.

Now that I think of it, though, I have already been working on a design for OilandGasLaw.com that I will be presenting to my first potential buyer to give him a sense of how his law firm's website could look, in comparison to the poorly designed site that his firm has now through Martindale Hubbell. Martindale Hubbell charges law firms an arm and a leg to list their names in the directory to begin with and adds outrageous additional costs to provide an extremely primitive and ineffective web site to accompany the firm's listing. Attorneys have no need to relinquish their MH site; they merely need to supplement it with a GOOD website designed around a TERRIFIC domain name.

So, jaik, in many ways, you are right after all!

Best regards,
Sheila
