Nothing wrong with gambling, sex or alcohol - as long as the State gets its cut.
Otherwise, it's illegal and immoral.

*rolleyes*

I can just imagine Phil Helmuth right now. lol

Or unless it's run by the government. Just like Playnow.com (run by BC Lotto)

PokerStars & UB are seized but at the moment FullTilt is still up (maybe got an extension?).

fulltilt poker is down here. It says owned by the united states attorney. Also I tried to play on pokerstars and it rejected me.

FullTilt is still up here in Cali.

The .net is still up but the .com has been seized. Maybe different registrars?

A fella from fulltilt poker told me they're cranking millions. He didn't say it was billions

good case to get lawyered up and prove the US gov has NO POWER over the net

now if they did it right in the first place they would be bullet proof

caymans corp that's legit

you become your OWN BANK

you use a caymans bank to collect wires and give an account funds, you accept monies all day legitimately by international check or wire in caymans

you issue checks daily or weekly to players that want to cash out from a neutral source NOT A USA BANK

you drop any connection to a US based bank or registrar

that would be a legit bullet proof gambling entity

IMO

but their defense is, USA gave away authority over the net to icann by the wipo treaty

if you read the stuff that's the loophole

so they need

a. major domain lawyer
b. a treaty lawyer
c. a great criminal lawyer

they can beat it

will they?

probably not they were dummies to bring the money into US banks

you keep that stuff in caymans IMO

no extradiction treaty with caymans

it's the last place you can do this type of stuff legitimately

Interesting stuff. I wonder how a lawyer would analyze it.

they'd say if the money came into USA banks

cut a deal

you're doing a piece of work

Russia and Romania are pretty safe too. Neither has an extradition treaty with the US.

Don't consider this to be legal advice, just results of my personal research.

I only recently (a week ago?) joined fulltilt... I tried opening it just now and it did not let me proceed as there was "new software available".

I'm scared to download it, as it could be a tracking software of some sort from the US government if they had seized the poker site in such a way that they would have control over what gets downloaded.

Now it looks like all fulltilt poker sites except uk.co are taken by fbi.
uk.co went FREE. And now we all can play for freeeee!

Not sure on this specific case but the way they usually set it up is the .com is the money site/where you go to gamble and they setup the .net to play for free. If you ever watch those poker shows on TV like ESPN, they're always advertising the .net. (in hopes you'll eventually move on over to the .com :) )

Looks liek they set up phony on-line merchants to process US payments...

It’s alleged PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker leaned on intermediaries. “Phony online flower shops and pet supply stores” were established to take in poker money, according to a new U.S. indictment. Some of the alleged fronts used names like mygolflocations.com and bicyclebigshop.com

Both domains are currently available for registration :)

Well if the Feds are cracking down on gambling, they ought to shut down all the big banks
that caused the economy to crash and burn.
