I'm just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on 3 character domains

.net, .org., and .com particularlly.

I believe that the only reason to buy 3 letter domains is that they can be used as initials or some companies names and be sold to an end user for big $$$. They are also likely to get some traffic.
3 character domains usually don't stand for any initials, so there's a much lower value for these.

It really depends what the three characters are but I have sold a few LNN or LLN dot coms to end users for up to $900 each. If you are interested in 3 character names I would stick with the dot coms and, personally, I would avoid the LNL or NLN variety.
