I recently acquired the name Opposites.com. I am thinking that this could potentially be developed into a dating site -- playing off the saying "opposites attract." According to the former owner, the name was making somewhere between $10-$15/month with a generic landing page on Klickerz - having nothing to do with dating or anything special.

What do you guys think its worth?

I absolutely agree with your napkin plan for Opposites.com.

It is a great name for exacly what you proposed. As a name, it is probably not going to get all that much in the market, but as a site, with proper marketing, it could be worth quite a bit.

Good luck with it, I hope you go the get funding and develop route rather than selling it for a song.

The true value is in development... $5400 as it stands solely via PPC history, but solid generics such as this have inherent developmental value as well... multiple applications with this one. Nice add!

So you're talking about 40 years revenue... uhh... I don't think so based on the ppc. But as a name in itself... about 4-5k

Personally, I don't believe anyone sells one-word generics using the standard revenue models. With a one word generic, I believe the ppc is typically added value.

Was my PPC value equation in the evaluation of this solid generic name that could very easily command much much more than a mere 30yrs + revenues. One of my generics has generated (60yrs+ of revenue) offers and is looking to go way beyond.

I don't think anyone pays 30 years revenue based just on the revenue. There has to be other growth/potential factors involved. $5,400 invested today should be worth over $40,000 in 30 years, not $5,400.

Certainly this is one of those names though. $5k seems to be about right I would say.
