Very interesting. I got the e-mail as well. Consolidation within the industry continues

:ok: 75% of our stuff with oversee.net cool....

I hope this means you will be able to put domains up for auction at SnapNames while still keeping them in your Moniker account.

I also hope it means that if you win a SnapNames auction, your domain can be registered at Moniker, instead of one of those bogus SnapNames registrars.

Just wonder if Moniker will still organize Traffic auctions now ?

From the FAQ link in the email:
Will Moniker continue handling auctions at Internext, TRAFFIC and other events?
Yes. However, SnapNames will handle silent auctioning for these events.

My question:
Does selling names at snapnames still require a transfer first, if our domains are at Moniker?

Crazy stuff. I guess you never know who is gonna sell next.

DNF Domain News forum has same thread HERE

I wonder if Rick's pending announcement is somehow related to the Oversee takeover or perhaps the takeover was the only news.

The earth will revolve today but it just may seem a little faster than most days. 2008 is about to start with a BANG. A very BIG bang. What will it all mean? Stay tuned. This is a biggie! We are going to start the year off right.

if your domain is at moniker, you will not have to move to a snap registrar. we will eventually helping with the management of all the registrars in our network. it will help everyone manage their domains better.

I guess the Viagra finally worked. :ok:

Interesting Development! =) I hope I stop getting those "Not Authenticated" errors in FireFox and I will get back from GD to Moniker.

I remembered that Monte hates domainsponsor when they backed out as part of traffic club alternative landing pages. I guess, can't beat it join it club now.

Maybe this is the reason trafficclub parking got some issues last december for 2-3 days some of my domains not resolving. I decided to move them (300+) to domainsponsor anyway.

Acquisitions and mergers are never good for the industry as they lead to technological fusion, monopolies and integration of personnel positions (a.k.a. layoffs).

I concur with this statement 100%!

And I dropped DomainSponsor years ago.

Monte, why oh why...

Hey Monte, you say will not so this is planned for as a future option?
Any idea when this will occur?
Is it possible/available now?

i see oversee becoming even more stronger in the market.
I guess trafficclub will slowly phase out and will be replaced by domainsponsor

Hope trafficclub will not decide to become DomainsponsorBased-only parking provider. At this time, SKENZO beats DS with a lot of domains and so SKENZO feed is the only reason for a lot of members of TC to be members of TC. Anyway, as far as I remember, SKENZO was trying to "secure" old customers of KLICKERZ when they were reselling SKENZO and I hope that, should SKENZO feed be dropped from TC, SKENZO would contact customers directly - at least they know the domains and can check whois... Yes it is not good from moniker/oversee business point of view and moniker/oversee would not be happy to see customers leaving them to direct skenzo/bigjumbo feed.

So - EVEN THOUGH OVERSEE HAS ITS OWN PARKING FEED, SKENZO FEED SHOULD NOT BE DROPPED FROM TRAFFICCLUB

That would be imho no good move, lot of people use it so they have access to Skenzo.
Domainsponsor might buy Skenzo though :)

BTW, I wonder who will acquire moniker next time. Earlier it was acquired by Kanoodle/Sevast in August 2006.

maybe moniker can let other snapnames registrars use their control panel... the directI one sux
