Has been showing January results anyway.

Someone should be fired at Yahoo for missing a huge opportunity to gain customers from that tool.

HUGE opportunity lost.

if they bring it back it will be for a fee because the free tool was abused too much. And if it ever comes back with a login and a password, we can forget about bulk scans

Vioxx,

For a reason I ignore like allways you are bad with me.

Your post is ridiculous...

I am trying to help the community with a service that cost me a lot of money and does is totally free and does not generate me any income.
Look what Trellian search query cost before start doing usual stupid critics.
Also note that I did not linked my post, I did not say I am providing any terrific service, ... I am just like any other person here giving an idea of free service to use when OVT is down.

You are pathetic.

Our tool works fine.
It's just that actually Overture is not serving any result, nor even from their own site.
So all the applications using their feed is also down.
This is why you need to select the Trellian feed when Overture is down or not serving results.

...

When this tool was created Trellian was only offering 10 results in his free search.
This should have change few months ago when Overture was down for a week and Trellian keep this opportunity to try to get more market shares.
Now this not change anything about the fact that for every keyword search done with the Trellian data in PopularSearches.com I pay Trellian.

...

Chin up boys, there's lots of alternatives out there. For starters try Google's free version https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

well this is indeed a nice tool, buutt, i am noticing something very unfortunate in that many terms that had high xx,xxx searches in overture (~50,000-80,000 or so) are all showing up in this google tool as "very low search volume", whereas i see some terms that had much less overture score and they are listed in the google tool as in some cases high or very high search volume. I'm not sure what to make of this, other than that according to these two tools I would be buying very different names. :rolleyes:

Heres the thing ..
overture ==> Yahoo
adwords ==> Google

And another thing, people buy and sell based on overture ... Why?
And then talk about getting good rankings in google but buy based on yahoo stats?

yes, i am aware of that .. this is fairly obvious i think

I agree. one should not judge a name based on only one metric/tool. I like the google tool because it lists search volume alongside ad volume. google also has a larger market share than yahoo for search engine traffic. However, i would not expect the search results to vary so drastically unless there is a drastic difference in customer base. Is there one? the only possible thing i could think of would be a difference in geography, otherwise I wouldn't see a reason for one search engine to get xx,xxx searches for a term, and another to get xxx for the same term, especially considering the xxx was from google that gets more searches. :huh?:

Overture keyword is starting to look seriously dead. Anybody seen or heard anything semi-official from Yahoo?

I miss it badly. They should start a subscription service for it, make it a win-win situation.

Truly hard to believe Yahoo didn't make the connection between Overture's traffic volume and its revenue potential; wouldn't be surprised to see Google swoop up this market opportunity in the coming months.

It's not hard to believe really, they drop the ball on so many things over the years, it's why they have had so many problems. They should put up a message at OVT, but yahoo need to sell to a place that can do things rights. Because for the life of them, they can not seem to get their act together.

Last October I discussed with the Director of Yahoo development about their FREE APIs.
I was complaining about the limit usage and ways to raise it...
He said they was working on paying API with no release date.
Is this a sign of the paying APIs are coming soon? I don't know.
