For the last week whenever I put a search term to look for keywords at Overture it shows reverse results.

For example, normally if I did a search for " vacation rentals" I would see a result for that term. But for the last week the result is "rental vacations".

Every example term is showing reverse results. WTH???

Been like that for a good while on a number of terms. Don't know if anyone has ever suggested a definitive reason. Could be a glitch, could be entirely intentional. I mean, checke these out... but would you want to buy them?

Almost seems like it'd be an interesting network of sites to start. :-D I'm still renewing ListAuto.com at some point. Someone purchased ShopAuto.com from me in a hurry the other day. Somehow Overture's gotten to those though... they seem to come up correctly in their results now.

Very simple reason, most of the the suggestion tool results are given in alphapbetical word order (but not always, it appears sometimes they are in correct order).

Took my a long time and money lost reg'ing worthless OV return names before I realized that. Wish they did NOT report in alpha order as sometimes it's difficult to know the actual word order.

I remember that hypothesis. The idea being that they try to maybe "correct" the order on some of these as time goes by... The hypothesis hasn't necessarily been dismissed, but I think its only part of the puzzle. You have to factor in the issue of missing plurals as well as things that just seem "jumbled" for no intelligible reason at all.

I tend to suspect its an intentional form of copy-protection that doesn't affect the intended use of the tool.

Not only plural issues involving the trailing 's' but they even substitute real words at times, i.e. reporting on 'technology' though you were looking for returns on 'technologies' Also took me forever to realize suggestiontool does that at times.

I believe ov reports in alpha order because when an advertiser buys keyword terms he usually gets search results delivered in any ransom word order at both OV and Adwords, i.e. if you pay for the phrase 'commodity trading' you get returns and also get charged for the reverse term 'trading commodity' even though you really wanted to buy commodity trading.

There is a way for G adwords buyers to opt-out of random order returns but I believe most do not bother to do so, or do not know it was an option as that area of the adsense setup menu is not easy to understand.
