If a domain has consistent traffic it has value. no matter what ext.

Considering spain is a major european country and has a ton of sites already in the top alexa spots.

However I for one don't see any value in this domain. #1 its english. #2 it only has 500 on .es overture.

Yes, I would say there are five main factors that determine a domains value:

1) Product Relevance
2) GDP of target market
3) Linguistic Relevance
4) Numbers of first Language Speakers
5) Number of domains already registered in Ext.

Hit a bit fat Zero on any of these and the domain is basically worthless.
