Hey guys...brand new here and no doubt a textbook newbie..

I just registered a .com that I may be interested in developing into a full website in the distant future, but have it parked with Sedo right now.

How do I get started?

How do I get traffic to a domain if there is no actual web site there?

The normal ways a parked domain get traffic:

Type-ins
If its a dropped domain - prior links

A non generic made up word will not normaly get type-in, so unless its dropped from before would not get any traffic to speak of, .....unless its a typo of an other popular site/word.

Possibly not what you want to hear.

ok...that makes sense.

my site won't necessarily get many type-ins, though it does consist mainly of keywords. But no biggie though as i will eventually develop the domain, so it's not a waste to me.

I'm glad that parking finally makes sense!

It may get a little traffic as search engines pick up the link to sedo

you may want to try submitting it to dreamsubmit.net (not my domain) which includes google and about 25-30 other search engines. the basic package is free. it helps speed up the process a little if you use your own keywords during the dreamsubmit process vs. the keywords sedo assigns to all domains submitted to search engines.

You can allways add it to your signature on forums with the (under construction) label...
