a quick question. for .info's (not sure if they work the same with other tlds), if a domain goes from pending delete restorable ok, to inactive ok, does that mean that the owner renewed it or that the registrar renewed it and is keeping it?

Thanks!

While I'd continue to monitor it, I am pretty sure that it's been renewed. I see that 'Inactive' term with many pages that don't have any content such as even a park page.

Best Wishes,

Sounds like it was "redeemed" rather than renewed...

Inactive AND ok means that a domain does not have nameservers or the domain is on registrar-hold. In this case the domain does not have nameservers for whatever reason. Not sure who the registrar is, but that's the status of the domain.

thanks everyone.

Is it possible then for the domain to revert back to pending delete?
If I renew any of my .info, they show as active right away.

I believe the problem lies only in the .COM and .NET namespace which operates on the dinasour 'thin' registry system, as opposed to the improved 'thick' registry of new namespace, including .ORG. I believe serious manual intervention is needed to get a domain out of the former, thus the costs.

As a registrar, I like the dinosaur (thin registries) much better than the thick registries. You have no idea what is involved in creating a contact! It's amazing. And each thin registry has their own implementation of EPP. And even if they all were running the same, which they will be very soon, they each still do things differently.
