I've seen three ads (print ads) this week with people advertising their businesses at the .us.com extension...wondering if other's have seen the same anywhere? ..

I disagree, CentralNic domains are NOT crappy. I have seen many large companies in the UK advertising using the uk.com extension. I myself own several, I also know of other domainers at other DN forums, owning the likes of Poker.web.com, Property.uk.com etc, all getting some type in traffic. CentralNic domains certainly are a viable option if all thats left is .biz or .org.

I would consider them low value for memorization/typeins simply because many non savvy users would see the domain as blahus.com and not blah.us.com.

There is nothing wrong with these domains... they are sometimes good for development.

Owning a subdomain is not something I'd wanna be proud of.

This is how I look at it. auto.com is worth a lot. auto.us is worth much less, auto.us.com is worth even less for sure. That brings is some thing else for investing though. If some one big uses auto.us.com TV and ADDs, autous.com then will get many hits from it.

So auto.us.com then does not look so good to the owner, unless they get autous.com as well Right ?

del.isco.us so clever :) wonder if rel.igo.us is taken

sure everything worth.....the point is the market rule:

high demand, high value. No demand, no value.

Even sex.sex.sex.com would worth something.....how much? 1 $ or more is not my issue. The market decides and no one was thinking that something free as sex.com would worth not even 100 $ if it was asked in 1996 but then...

The real matter in domain industry is attract visitors and the name rule is being easy to remember. If it , then it has value.
