Phoneyworld.com was started in mid 2004. It was meant to cater to the audiences that we felt would grow main-fold as the importance of cell phones would increase. Till date we have not been dissappointed with the target market. The launch of the iPhone and increasingly convergence devices are showing that this is and shall remain a hot topic for years to come. We began with offering previews and specifications and while the formats changed over time, the basic idea is still the same - to empower the reader with enough information so as to help him make the right choice. A 'downloads' section was opened about 2 years ago allowing users to upload and share their themes for different phones. With blogs becoming increasingly popular and fresh content becoming relevant, we also began adding news on a daily basis. However with the founders priorities changing, the website has unfortunately started stagnating. With a make-over and constant attention ; the already popular site can be given a fresh lease of life. Direct advertisers also need to be targetted since we got advertiser inquiries even before offering any support pages. Income is now primarily from Adsense, Tribalfusion etc. Since adsense has not been added to downloads section, it needs to be monetised properly and has not yet been done so.
Due to insufficient attention, the site has reduced in rankings (Alexa) from mid twenties to fifties and pagerank from 7 to 5. However the site has consistently maintained a page rank of 5 throughout its lifetime owing to strong backlinks.

Ownership of domain will be transferred immediately once sale is approved. The database itself is worth a lot considering that data is input immediately of all phones and verified. Advertising handled independently and properly would easily allow revenues to be 2x - 2.5x
