deal ?

You can find SOMEONE to buy any domain for $100. besides you'll probably build some type of mini site and get some traffic which would then constitute some value. The name itself is worth zero.

no, because even if you find a buyer for $100 that doesn't mean the name is worth that. just means you found a sucker. filesharing.us would have been okay.

Photo Sharing sites are popping up all over the place...

They are popular because most of the worlds people do not build websites.. BUT want a way to share all their photo's , things you cant do with just email.. picture mail is great for sending a quick picture but having a complete album that you can share with everyone is very cool..considering you dont have to know how to register a domain, find a host , set up dns build aweb site.. etc..that s simply more than the avergae person can do, or has the time or energy to do..

but offer them a place wheree all they have to do is upload to a photo sharing website like
http://www.fotki.com/

, thats a service people wil pay for.. and smart webmaster business people that understand will easily pay $100 for such a great keyword..and they'd be getting a hell of a deal !

Kid, I dont mind you doing appraissals if you would at least offer some reasoning behind them, but I think you post before you give names any thought...

i don't see any difference in a $100 name and a reg fee name. I don't see the domain world in that way. I see it as in there are the big names, medium names, and the reg fee names. That's the way i vie domain names. The $0 to $100 all fall into the same category to me.

I see a 900 percent difference..between a $10 reg fee and a $100 sale..

The bottom line is you simply through out numbers..without any real thought..

 Thanks whitelion..not really that big a deal though..

I like KidKool, I just find appraisals without reasoning irritating, DR Who use to drive me nuts ...It's not the person thats irratating it's the style of apprassials...

When I register names I dont just throw darts, I research first as most here do and I find it a bit insulting when people just throw numbers like darts..without the same thought that the person doing the registration put into it.

KidKool, DR Who are good people..I would just like to see the appraisal section have more discussion then just arbitrary numbers..

At least some of the time..

Why do you think it is a crappy name or an excellent name.. whats makes it a reg fee compared to a $400 or a 4000 dollar name..

and after much prodding KidKool finally gave up his basics for determing value, I think he left out a few variables but I do appreciate that finally showed his reasoning..

I have pointed this out before ..but I am in the minority on this "need" for discussion in the apprassial board..

just once every couple of months I need to vocalize this dissatisfaction ..

Hopefull you are not but it certainly seems that way sometimes. I have noticed another forum is almost appointing appraisers with a view to creating a more professional image.

Might be worth considering here.

dont mind me. i love reading all your posts but here is what happens in appraisals section:

1) People just massively throw out numbers to increase posts
Or
2) You regged the domain, researched it. To you value must be high. Might be others who see it as a high value. But to some its not. I sometimes put domains that i know are worth 10 times more of what have been appraised.

Anyhow, good luck! By the way you are right photo album sites are getting a lot attention these days. Majority of the forums don't allow image upload so guess where people go :)

Domainstate is even worse. You just don't get any appraisels at all.
