A very nice name there. With a name like that that can not be trademarked, you can contact the companies directly. One of the thing that's start to emerge is companies that fix Plasma screens and sell plasma screen replacement. This is a very nice name. I'm sure it gets some good traffic too.

I'd appraise it at mid xx,xxx to high xx,xxx developed. Enduser sell can go xxx,xxx easily to the right buyer.

Great we thought about developing ourselves and then selling or going the drop-shipper route but it's a lot of work getting things started.

Whats the best way to sell. An advert on the name or on greatdomains or afternic?

Any advice would be good.

I can see this being a 100K+ name, sure. It wouldnt surprise me to see $20 cpc affiliate marketing on something like that. 1% cost of sales....thats a bargain for electronics.

I own similar domains, and I wouldn't peg the value quite so high. I'd say $10,000 max to a reseller. Maybe $20,000-$30,000 to someone who plans to setup an ecommerce site.

Well there you go, set up some affiliate marketing and see what you can develop it into. If you did 3K a month, thats 36K a year and its not unreasonable to see 2-3x income on major transactions.....

If you don't mind me riding along, I have <mod edit> Please do not advertise any other domain names, however similar, in another member's thread. Feel free to start your own thread, if you wish. Thanks you for your cooperation </mod edit>

I say to the right buyer, maybe 1K. There is no overature for it with ext., so basically it is only a name that would be good if devoloped. If developed, you could expect even more.

Very nice name, I suggest to get the most value from this name is to hold on to it untill they start making a few more plasma computer screens (plasmascreens) because right now the most popular verbage is plasma tvs, but if they are computer screens you cant call them plasma tvs. Right?

Right now low $xx,xxx
Couple Years high $xx,xxx - low $xxx, xxx (if plasma computer screens start becoming frequent)

Value will decrease over time, Plasma screens are already starting to get replaced by LCD TV's.

Around now is the right time to sell, or capitalise on this domain, the longer you leave it the less it is worth...although it will always hold some value (In the same way that Betamax.com does)

Cool Guys, Thanks for all the advice. Seems like the suggestion may be to sell.

How would i best go about this - not having sold a domain before?
Ebay, Afternic, GreatDomains, or maybe direct email to a company?

Or canI employ someone to do it for me?

Cheers

Since you've never done this before, I would solicit a broker on here to get the maximum amount for your name. Bigger sales tend to be done either in private or figures who are sort of known in the industry already. There is a Brokers Wanted section here on the site. Put a help wanted, see who responds. Ask for the person's credentials, what names or value of the names they've brokered before etc. There are a lot of good guys here who have their feets in a lot of avenue and would be able to command a better sales price then you so definitely give a broker a shot. Lastly, do everything in writing and keep all email correspondance. Good luck with the sale!

Plasma is old news. The screens are burn-in susceptible and don't perform like LCD. Sell now!

I also think it's over-appraised.

High hundreds.

Hmm, you could be right. Though for many a 'plasma screen' is a generic description. They don't mind what the technology behind it is, Plasma, LCD whatever. Still - maybe it's time to sell. Will keep you posted.

any thanks all.
