I meant to ask about this. The other day I tried to register an all hyphen name. GD wouldn't let me. I wondered why.......

I don't think it even exists - you never could register a domain starting with, or ending with a hyphen.

On a side note, did you know you can have subdomains with underscores? eg look_at_my_underscores.mydomain.com
