as an ensim user that needs to change to one of the above 2, could you tell me the pros and cons, assuming you have used both?

Thanks!

CPanel is pretty easy, but has been reported to have bugs and vulnerabilities. I have not personally had a problem

Plesk, I hear is good but quite difficult to master. I have only played with the demo of plesk, but I use cPanel.

Hope this helps!

CPanel is easy to use and if kept up to date through WHM should be as secure as anything will be, having access to WHM as in a reseller environment helps with upgrades and alerts.
I personally didn't like the Plesk demo but that could be because I didn't spend long with it.

I've used both and like them equally. You won't go wrong with either one.

In fact I'd give Plesk the slight edge for functionality and ease of navigation

I use them both all the time on several impementations, flavors and versions. My quick assessment is that Cpanel would be the choice for multiple domain hosting account management, while Plesk rocks for single domain accounts esp. if you have many client accounts (I d use the latter)

Further, I find Plesk leaner and swifter to go in and out for routine account maintenance. On the other hand, CPanel seems (or at least SEEMED) to be a favorite among novices...
I hope this helps!

I've Used cPanel for a very long time. WHile it does have some issues (the latest version, for example, does not allow you to set file and folder permissions - bug). I am running 2 dedicated machines, both on RH9 and the latest cPanel with no problems. WHatever you cant do with cPanel, you can through SSH.
