lets say there's a generic keyword term that is available in .com. you check to see how many google results there are. there are single digit google results (>10) BUT, the sidebar of your browser is floor to ceiling with sponsored ads.

how do you interpret this data?

do you say that this term is worth registering (in .com of course) or not?

i have my opinion but would like to hear everyones thoughts and reasoning behind it. i think its an interesting question, and maybe spark some interesting dialogue old and new domainers.

cheers

I think if all or many of those ads are using the 'exact' term you can get in .com, you should reg it.

If it's a three word term, check if one or two of the words alone have a high search return, which would be good.

If it's a two word term, check the search results for each word. If one or both are high, it's also positive.

For $7 I'd reg it and not waste any time thinking it over.
