Anybody ever have this happen?

I backordered Orioles.org several days ago. I checked the status today, and Pool has landed it. However, it is not in my auction list!!!

Has anybody else ever encountered this issue?

Happened to me twice - once the name never appeared, the next the name appeared up for auction after a week or so for some reason.

Did you actually see it in your backorder list?

Or, did you enter it. And, it went into the login page?
If that happens, most of the time the name is not
entered on your list.

I saw the Orioles.org. But, since, the stadium is 10 - 15 miles
away. I didn't want to invite the problem.

Bob, for you, they are beautiful birds.

But, when I am sitting in the same state. They might go after me
for common law trademark under Maryland law.

The owner who is a lawyer made a 1/2 billion dollars by suing the
asbestos and tobacco industry. So, I don't want to wave a flag by
being in the same state.

I emailed Pool about this today. Here is their response:

Hello;

Thank you for using Pool.com. Please login to your account and go to the Auctions page. You should now see Orioles.org in your current auctions list.

Hello,

I backordered Orioles.org several days (perhaps a week) ago. Orioles.org
in fact dropped today and Pool caught it. However, it is not in my auction
list so I cannot bid on the domain name. Why is this happening?

-Bob

Sure enough, it is in my auction list now.

Say it like it is, 888....

IMHO, Pool needs to go through an independent audit check as many questions are being raised right now.

On the one hand, I can understand why they need to do this - grab as much money for as many registrars as they can to intice them to join the pool. Especialy before the WLS kicks in, if it kicks in.

On the other, I can see how much this game has evolved into an insiduous Venus Fly Trap.

The good ol days of drop catching on the unsispecting is dead. I'm sure Ults realises that by now. The game is now understood. The scripts and resources are now in place for the public to tear it apart even on a circa 286 IBM issue.

Fine.

Bring on the WLS. And let's observe and learn -- how resilient people are in grabbing good names years ahead of any clues.

2. Bring on ICANN, to introduce new relevant gTLDs until the point .COM is seen as a the domain for insecure ol farts.

Woah Mole...

This statement floored me. Up to this point, you have maintained 100% that WLS WOULD happen. Are you starting to doubt if it will happen?

Yep, same thing. A name they got on Tues (today is Friday) is not in my list and no emails at all from them about it?

Found out about it by luck when got email from SnapNames re a change in the whois and noticed the nameservers were changed to my own nameservers and my email address so I knew I got it of course but not a word from Pool or the firm they reg'd it with?

It's amazing how screwed up some of these webfirms are like Pool and Enom, for example.

P.S. Not surprising Snap did not get it, the chance of them getting it is almost zero, but I found out about it from them so at least their service is of a little value

This seems to be happening all too frequently ... I hope they are trying to figure out a solution.

Also has anyone been getting winning notices on names they never bid on? That was happening for awhile too.
