Purchased popebendictxvii.com seconds after the pontiff was elected

should I sell now for a quick profit or wait...possibly 50 years...

thanks -

hate to be the one to break it to you, but popes select their own names and the next one will not choose benedict 17th

really????

Anyway, there's more than a few times when the succeeding pope picked the same name in tribute to the previous pope.

$7 investment...already received $XXX offers

Thanks for the feedback.

Well here's a list ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_popes

i did see it happened a couple of times, but personally i'd take the offer ... There may not be a new pope for 5-10-15 years and when that time comes, if we still are using domains, you better hopes he chooses the succeeding name

good luck

thanks again...I was thinking the same

I agree! Sell it. Then go and buy every other possible name the next pope could take (probably already done now that I think about it) and sell those too!

Btw, is it benedict or bendict?

Thanks for the feedback.

BTW - it's benedict

Considering that the last Benedict reigned over 80 years ago, you might have a long wait. Only keep it if you believe in Human Cryogenics :-D

I couldn't disagree with you more . . . I just checked top baby names . . . Benedict cracked the top 10,000!!!! It's coming on strong!!!!!

You're correct...it's a gamble...but even if I don't sell it, my children or grandchildren...etc...will likely benefit...and that's not so bad.

thanks for the feedback...

If you hang on it to it you could make out really well but you have the opportunity to make a nice return right now with absolutely no risk. On the other hand if you end up paying 50 years worth of registration fees and let's say you pay $500 for example. If the new Pope does go by the name you will definitely have a $XX,XXX-$XXX,XXX domain on your hands. The pay off in this situation outweighs the risk.

I would say it all comes down to your financial situation. If money is no object for you then it would be wise to hang on to it. If you are in a position where you want to get the money while you can you mine as well sell it.

I would suggest putting it on Ebay while popebenedictxvi.com is still up. You maybe able to draw some attention to your domain because it's so similar. Send the interested parties to the auction and you might end up with $X,XXX for it right now.

Regardless of what you decide to do I wish you the best of luck with the domain.

Great advice.

Actually, I had already set the auction for popebenedictXVII.com to start at 6:30pm (eastern) ...I did that purposely bc popebenedictXVI.com had exactly 7 days 0 hours at 6 pm...folks are bound to see my domain bc auction will close in 7 day 0 hours, 30 minutes.

we're on the same page.

Thanks!!

I agree with the advice from Dr. Domainer... but do you *REALLY* want to wait up to 50 years on this one?

I say try and capitalize on current interest - as you have done :)

Good luck!
