I'm very interested in peoples thoughts on ppv.ca your appraisals and the reasons for your appraisals plus thoughts on the .ca situation which in my mind is improving rapidly.

Many canadian domainers have a lot of premium .ca domains but due to restrictions are almost destined to develop, trade amongst other Canadians or wait on that ever savior enduser.

A few people should know what I picked up PPV.CA for and as I've said to most I planned to develop it and I'm toying with it for now with a preview image of how feel the site could look and be like soon.

Of course I'd love for the day anyone can register a .ca but that day is not today so I can understand if there's some negative posts and lack of interest in the .ca extension.

I like the name a lot. I think it has a lot of potential if developed. Since you just bought
this name and the price announced on dnjournal.com it is very hard to place a tag on
it. I think you got a very good price though.

The same here. Congratulations! I'd say the real price would be around $3500..

The year 2005 was pretty slow, 2006 got better, 2007 got a little better, and now 2008 is off to a good start, with the big TBR a week ago showing there is still good demand and bidding. Big players are still fresh regging names.

In general the whole domain market seems to be doing well, compared to other areas of the economy. A recession might hurt a little but nothing can really stop the internet, it's growing all the time, more users, more reason for using it, more online advertising, etc. - it's here to stay and you need a domain to take part. Mobile growth is exciting and don't forget that .ca domains can be used for mobile sites too.

If they open up .ca to anyone, the market will take a big jump IMO.

Sorry I never got back to you like promised. Here is my fluid "IMHO" appraisal. You paid too much according to current market value; reseller (that goes almost without saying). You did however want the name based on your bids and eventually won the name. This is a development domain with lots of searches for wrestliing, MMA and movie "pay per view". Develop well, hold and be shrewed as I know you are. Only you can give an accurate current and future appraisal as you are the one with the vision :smokin:

I like this domain very much. Clearly a premium 3 letter with obvious high enduser potential. The current preview design on the site is very nice will this be used for the live site?

I can say without doubt you got this for a nice price If I was canadian I would make an offer for your domain right now for 5k, I was in canada recently and the increase in companies using .ca domains has increased. Continue to develop or find an enduser and this could be a very good investment.

With regards to the comment above based on recent .ca sales I'd say the reseller market prices are changing of course they'll be some high prices like with rr.ca, (which went for over 10k although I'd expect nothing less of a LL of that calibur) ppv.ca, vegashotels.ca and what have you but just look at the average prices dropped ca domains are going for now compared to last year (even non premium) it's on the rise. It's time we took .ca seriously.

Resell value I'd say $4-7k , but without doubt an enduser would pay $xx,xxx+ but you'll need to continue to develop it. Best of luck and congratulations.

This is the kind of domain that will attract a company such as Rick's deal with CNN that bagged hin 750k for ireport.com. Or if you look through some of the cctld sales over the last couple of years there are some astronomical numbers for prime domains.

I wouldn't even start talking to an end user under xxx,xxx

As I said on another thread the "business end user" has been absent from the aftermarket to date. but that will start to change as internet knowledge starts to spread through the corporate world.

And then watch for some monster prices for domains like this.

There are so many poor .ca domains out there but ppv.ca is one of the good ones i've seen. It actually has relevance and an obvious market. I can easily see this going for $xxx, xxx for an enduser which without doubt has to be a cable company or satellite.

Resell value will get you a quick couple thousand 3-6 maybe. IMO just develop and wait for an enduser to contact you, or better yet contact them.

These are some very strong advice coming from experts in the industry and I hope everyone is making a note of it.

Thanks for the encouragement. Nice to see fellow domainers feeling happy for others and encouraging like this. Which other industry do you find this?? except at others throat!!!! Nice to see this happen here.
