The PR is indeed 8 however searching Google for "ult.net" I see lots of aggressive database submissions, such as:

http://www.ebay-portal.net/ebay-auction-business-accounting-software.htm

That page then lists ULT.net twice, mentioning

Ult.net - The Ultimate Site for Accounting - eBay AUCTION BUSINESS ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE. MUST HAVE - EBAY ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE with AUCTION TRACKING, ends Apr-9 12:45 am - -

The link seemingly points to http://www.ult.net/accounting/ebay-accounting-software.shtml but that ends up being a redirect to ult.net

There are thousands of similar links. One can make their own assumptions.

After read the SEO tip at http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=97768 by GiantDomain , I checked my domains for http://www.name and http://name.com . And suprised me that my http://ult.net show PR8 , so I tried searching how to do 301 redirect from http://www.ult.net to http://ult.net yesterday. PR for http://www.ult.net only show PR4 and for http://ult.net is PR8 .

So redirection just been done yesterday after reading SEO tips by GiantDomain , thanks for the tip Giant :)

Hope with this PR8 can easily get listed at search engine for all pages at ult.net and increase my stats :) .

Just suggestion to anyone, try to check your http://name.com and http://www.name , perhaps u will fine that u got high PR too :)

For more detail on 301 redirect, please read http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=97768

Thank you.

Sorry CP, I think you're wading in some ambiguous waters here.

Go to http://www.google.com/search?q="ult...&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2005-22,GGLG:en&start=300&sa=N or to any other of the 4 pages with the thousands of links for the query "ult.net" . All these Google entries are farmed & database generated. The resulting pages don't even contain links to ULT.net.

Want to see a real PR8 domain? Look up belarc.com
All the backlinks are actual pages with links or references to the domain.

I think better for me to see and wait the impact by using PR8, which I never had before and learn more about PR things. Unless someone interesting to offer me high xx,xxx.

Anyway thanks NetProwler for your offer.

Notice these urls are all "ghosted", and don't contain descriptions or titles, which should send a flag to those with strong seo knowledge.

http://www.google.com/search?num=10...=GGLG,GGLG:2005-22,GGLG:en&q=site:www.ult.net

Google doesn't show real-time PR - this could be old PR, and in the next update it could be deducted signifigantly. Judging from the type of content, it doesn't seem likely to hold this level of PR.

I willing to bet that the PR for this domain drops significantly in the next update.

It's PageRank - Google's system of valuing webpages.

In my opinion, mention of PR and OVT numbers should be banned from sales threads. They are potentially misleading to those who do not understand how these values are compiled by the respective search engines.

Buyers who use rely on these metrics can research the domain on their own, and come to their own conclusions.

PR is short for PageRank, which is calculated for each website by Google.

If you do a Google search on "PageRank" you can find many more explainations.

A high PageRank leads to a better spot on Google search returns - at least while the high PageRank lasts.
