Hi,

I have been approached by an individual who is interested in one of my Domains. He will only bid after a professional appraisal has been done, he has recommended the sites below :-

http://www.FastDomainsales.com
http://www.GreatDomains.com
http://www.EverydayIncome.com
http://www.Hollywoodomains.com
http://www.AllForDomains.com

Do you all think it is a good idea to get an independent value before starting negotiations? I can see where he is coming from.

If I spend $50 and the value is low or he looses interest, then I am out of pocket. I am not sure of the value, but wouldn’t expect it to be high.

It did also cross my mind that this may be a scam, this guy owns or runs these valuation service, which I have to pay for then, says not interested. I am probably being to cautious LOL, but some of these sites look a bit amateurish??

Any info would be appreciated.

Ye, it's a scam, I nearly fell for it the other day but Mr Webname told me it was a scam, they won't accept anyone you recommend, only the ones they say so they can collect affiliate earnings.

It will 80/20 be a scam. I've had it before.

How good in your mind is the domain? Just simply ask how much he is willing to offer. Be proffesional yourself, more than likely you will not here from him again. I would'nt get an appraisal.

Thanks a lot for that, so it appears I was not being too over cautious after all. Let just hope that too many people dont fall for this scam.

His e-mail address is from a hotmail type service where he stayed hidden, and he would not accept a valaution from a UK based company that I have used before.

So domain name owners watch out for this one.....

They're scum, it's the same as just robbing someone outright except they do it over the net and can get away with it all the time even when it goes wrong, p*sses me off.
