Just acquired this one.

I thought that propagate and info go hand-in-hand as information is propagated over the internet all the time, whether that be our website url propagated accross the search engines, or press release propagated accross various news networks, etc, etc.

Anyways, your thoughts?

I see the value of .info's depending on a couple factors.

First, how well does it work with the extension. Is this the type of name people are likely to request info on? Because propagate has so many meanings (like six) I believe it is likely to receive inquiries for info. Among those definitions is to "breed". Anyone like to "breed" here?

Secondly, How does it do in Google? I consider a word above 7mil results as a fairly common word. Propagate produces over 12mil. Not bad!

Third, and most important IMO, how many other TLD's are currently taken? A word with 12mil results in Google, but only the .com is taken, is clearly not in high demand. On the flip side, a word that produces, say 1.2 million results in Google, but is gone in the Com, Net, Biz, US, Org, Mobi, etc... has an obvious level of demand that I think is worth purchasing over. This is the criteria I use for buying my .info's.

Propagate has 12 million results in Google and is gone in all other major extensions.

I am to trying to learn and understand how the values of .info's work, and have often been puzzled with this TLD. Maybe the value is, like Rockefeller says, only $20 at present. Values are going to increase in the near future. I know this!

How do I know this? The .info keywords, for the most part, no longer drop! Three months ago when I started domaining, I could "catch any .info I wanted. I had a system that was, well, faster. This has recently changed though. Registers like Enom, Spot and even GoDaddy sweep them up before they even have the chance to drop for regular civilians. This has been consistent for the past month, and started with Enom (hmm, has something changed recently with Enom ownership or something?).

All I know is that this alone may change the value of .info's. Are registers single handedly creating higher demand for this TLD. I believe so. Guys like Rockefeller may want to hang tight to see where the market goes before unloading to a seller.

However, I am just a newbie with a mere 34 post! What do I know?

Thanks for the input, Giode. You certainly put a lot of thought into it. Nice explanation.

According to the criteria you've broken down, propagate.info is a good investment then:

1. 12mil results in Google (very common)
2. All other tld's taken.
3. Goes well with the .info extension.

How did you come up with a drop-catch system so soon after you started domaining?

ecafe,

I still don't feel real comfortable appraising domains. I'm sure this will change in the not too distant future. Still, my opinion stands that propagate is a good name to own for reasons I mentioned.

I sold my business and suddenly had all the time in the world to focus on whatever. At first I started working on Adsense and building an income that way. As I got into the whole "seo" thing, I kept reading about the value of dropped domains and how it can help dramatically bring in traffic. Domaining kind of took over my life from there. I forgot about Adsense.

As far as drop catching; I read about supposed drop times of different TLD's (Most of which were wrong) and through trial and error timed the .info drop down to the minute. Amazingly, there was always one or two other "catchers" I was competing with daily. Sort of like a silent rivalry. As I said though, this has all changed in the past month. Even though I almost know the second they drop, I can't seem to catch anything anymore, unless I backorder.

I have learned a ton just reading this forum. I am usually not a real big poster.

Nice to have you on board, Giode. Hope you gain the confidence to post more liberally. Sounds like you can offer a lot in terms of contribution to these forums.

Hey, Justin, I own very few info's as well. Although with GD's special of .99 I registered more, mainly for development.

I agree with some of what Giode said. Most .infos that sell for X,XXX are generic, one word terms that have some sort of market behind them. Any other one words sell for $10-$100 depending on the term.

Rockefeller,

Did you mean that you owned Six.info and sold it, or you have owned a total of six .info's that are all sold as of now?

If you owned Six.info I hope you got a high X,XXX min for it. Great name!

You haven't sold all your .info treasures have you?

ecafe,

Thanks for the words! It's not a confidence thing as much as it is a preferring to read thing. I have posted quite a bit lately, so maybe this is changing.

Nice man! Nothing like having this kind of financial security! You were obviously one of the few thinking ahead when you bought these.
