Yeah, appraisal is pretty much worthless. I always get it when registering with Godaddy because the appraisal is $4.95 and then you get the domain for $1.95. The combination is cheaper than just registering the domain itself.

It is amazing that GoDaddy, the #1 domain registrar in the world, would offer such a poor appraisal system to the public. They have got to know that their "Express Appraisals" are worthless. When a newbie gets an inflated appraisal back from them on a worthless domain you have got to be certain that that person will go and register more domains because the person may think that they are on to something and the process will just repeat itself. The more "valuable" domains they think their finding, the more domains they register and the more appraisals they order.

Has anybody ordered a "Certified Domain Appraisal" from them? One has to wonder how accurate they are as well.

I think you should talk to an accountant and see if you can figure out a way to make money off of that asset as appraised. If ENRON could make a profit off of funny money transactions, why not then make some money off of an inflated appraisal.

I listed in on TDNAM and decided to get certified appraisal to attract more attention to it. Certified Appriasal was $141.00 - $314.00. I sold the domain for $135 after about 2 weeks of being listed.
