I think this name is very interesting as it has several meanings.

Probably the most lucrative for development would be "placing a bet" (didn't know it had that meaning until I looked it up).

Probably the least lucrative would be the football definition.

Not sure what you would do with the "indented bottom of a wine bottle" definition.

Maybe the most interesting would be the idea of turning something over to another team. How about a site where you could list projects that you have taken as far as you are able/willing to go with them? Websites, restorations, collections, business ideas, anything. You could list them for a new team to purchase from you or partner up to take them to completion? Kind of a "craigslist" for uncompleted projects. I think the name would be extremely brandable for this type of application.

I would think anything upwards of $4k for this domain.

This is a dream name for any online gambling start up business where the company name can be identical to the domain name. The minimum is $110k for this name because it ticks all the boxes. Short and easy to spell, easy to say, sounds good, looks good, easy to remember. Very brandable .com. I would be dreaming of 500k if it were mine. There must be very few 4 letter .coms around that you can relate so easily to gambling. Maybe it is the only one for sale of such quality. I really rate this name. Pure gold.

Creature.

thats one of those words that looks great, but its difficult to fetch a really great price-tag because it is very difficult to monetize or commercialize, there are sports terms that are better for sports gampling... one possibilty would be to make a website about ending a relationship... not sure about girls, but guys frequently refer to dumping as punting..

From watching some British movies ( Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels ), I thought calling someone a "punter" was an insult. True ? False ?

a punter is slang for a gambler or a person who frequents a bar.

Pub Landlords often refer to their customers as Punters.

a punt is also a bet in the English Commonwealth Countries

I would think "Pint-ers" would be better for the pub crowd :)

Now you are referring to a visually challenged lady, as in "she was a 6 pinter"

Great name though, definitely worth over $20k, maybe very large figures.
The word punt is very common in the UK / Ireland.

Best of luck with it

Not that it matters anymore .... but Punt was the currency here in Ireland prior to the euro..

Punt = Pound ( same difference ) as opposed to Pound "Sterling" in the UK
ie on currency markets it was not Pound v Pound , but Punt v Sterling ..

Punt is a bet ....
Punter is a customer ( normally a bar ... but NOT exclusive .. punters are buyers )
Punter is a person who frequents Escorts/prostitutes

In Uk & ireland , PUNT is EXCELLENT for any betting/adult site .

A truely valuable domain ! $30k Minimum .... i love it !

What about selling to a water-based Venice tourist company? :-D The gambling link isn't clear to me.

Punt must be a European term when it comes to gambling. It's not common in the U.S. at all for that purpose. I've done plenty of gambling in casinos and online and I've never heard the term in that capacity until I looked it up last night.

Now...If Punt is a 4 letter, extremely easy, memorable UK word meaning "To Place a bet"...and UK is considering legalizing advertisements for online gambling...Theres really no reason to discuss any other use, is there? Need a partner?

Very nice domain! I'd say at least $xx,xxx. Would depend on what the buyer planned to use it for. If you wait a few years it could most likely fetch 6 figures as well..

The UK gov is about to pass a law allowing casinos to advertise on TV for the first time

Apparently it's TV specific that is in discussion. It is in a thread started here last night.
