Cant you push a domain within 60 days of purchasing?????

yes you can "push" within the same registrar, but some registrars don't have a push option , like 1and1 .

No registrars allow transfer for 60 days after purchase.
As Searchsix says....Most registrars (with a few pain in the a** exceptions)allow a push at anytime.
Don't know how much of a "newbie" you are so trying to be helpful not condescending...

Push is an internal change of ownership to another user at the same registrar.
Transfer is the external transfer of ownership to a new owner at a different registrar.

You helped me Jaydub. As in the difference between push and transfer.

I just bought a domain name and then put it up for sale right away. A few days later I received an offer that I accepted but now I am running into the push / transfer road block with the register. To make things worse it is a dot ca domain name so I have the canadian internet registration authority problem to boot.

I have a feeling my sale is going to be tanked. I suppose this should be a lesson for newbies, don't put just registered domains up for sale until the 60 days has passed.

Any thoughts on this?

Sure, use namecheap and you won't have such problems. It takes 2 seconds to push a domain, and any buyer of your domains can register and receive it instantly.

The 60 day limit doesnt apply to pushes.

I got lucky.. thanks to this thread and learning the differences I was able to get a "push" done.

Listen to me sounding like I know what I am talking about ... LOL
