I just signed up for Pool and bid on two domains. Pool got them both off the drop and now I get to bid I guess. In my auctions listing, I see these two auctions. I see a column that says "My Bids" and "# of Bids." What I want to know is if the "# of Bids" column will show a number if someone else has bid, as right now neither of these auctions shows any bids.

I have not bid yet because I am not sure how much to bid. If the blank column means I have no competition that would be good. :-)

Just wanted to doublecheck. Do any Pool.com users here know what I am talking about? Can you help? Thanks! :-)

Blank column means nothing.
You have no idea if you are alone or with 1000 bidders.

Budget isn't as much of a concern as being screwed. Its hard bidding a whole lot when I have no way of knowing whether or not anyone else is bidding. For all I know they could just say congrats, you outbid everyone, and take me for my full bid amount when I was the only bidder. No way to know. :-(

Most I spent on Pool was to the north of $3k.

This is exactly why quite a few people don't play the game at pool any longer. They've made it too easy for their customers to get the shaft.

Regards,
Mike

Snapnames went the Pool route now too. :-(

Only reason I started using Pool is because the past 10 (I swear, at least 10) of the domains I tried to get with snapnames ended up being picked up by Pool instead. I decided to get the best of both world and the very first 2 names I tried on Pool, Pool got. Now I have to play the bidding game. :-(
