Has anyone ever managed to get a falling name by hammering the API?

they will shut you off if you put too high load on their server(s)

Alright let me rephrase.
Assuming you know how much you can hammer the API without being shut off - has anyone managed to get a falling name this way?

Is it a total waste of time trying to get a domain that has a snap/namewinner or other registrar booking on it?

It would just depend on how popular it is. You could get lesser names this way but the chances of bagging an elephant are pretty remote.

Aside from the bandwidth limitations there are significant technical limitations to this approach.

unless you pay the register off like dropwizard does then you won't get any where

has dropwizard worked for anyone? thinking about giving them a shot.
