Question about trademarking a domain

Let's say you own two variations of a domain name (both dot com). You own the singular spelling and the plural spelling of the same keyword. You plan to 301 redirect one to the other.

Is it possible to trademark both names with the US government? Or are you only allowed to trademark one name?
