OTTAWA, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Fourth-quarter profit at ATI Technologies Inc. (ATY.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) nearly tripled on surging demand from computer, cell phone and digital television markets, and the graphics chip maker said on Thursday it expects revenue in the current quarter to beat Wall Street estimates.
ATI said net income rose to $61.2 million, or 24 cents a share, in the quarter ended Aug. 31, from $22.3 million, or 9 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 50 percent to $572 million from $381 million.
