I have been having problems with the registrar Rebel. Pool caught a few names there for me, but I have been unable to transfer them out. It appears Rebel.com is NACKing the transfers.

To make matters worse, Rebel.com has no corporate website of any substance, so you can't login to manage your names.

And.. there is no public WhoIs, which appears to be a pretty clear ICANN violation.

Perhaps there are other ICANN violations? Don't registrars have to offer some sort of support?

What the heck is up with REBEL.COM???

How long ago did Pool.com get the names for you? For COM/NET/ORG there is a registry imposed 60 day (I believe it is 60) lock out on transfers. There are ICANN rules about having whois information up for a domain within a decent period of time, the word they use in the agreement is "promptly". Unfortunately, there are no defined rules about support or in what way a registrar allows domain owners to manage their domains. It is too bad that companies like Pool, SnapNames, etc use registrars that lack basic customer support. You could try bitching at Pool to see if they can crack down on Rebel. I know Nelson at SnapNames will crack down on a registrar that refuses to support their customers.

See section 3.3 regarding whois information:

Yes. I am aware of the 60 day rule.

However, the domains have been at Rebel LONG past that period.

Did they provide you with a username and password when you first registered the domain? If so, try it at namescout.

You'll have to contact Namescout support for your login information.
Namescout manages domains caught though Rebel.
