Hi guys,

Just received an email from transfers@godaddy.com

====================================================================
DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER - Initial Authorization for Registrar Transfer
====================================================================

Go Daddy Customer, as soon as you're finished, SAVE 20%*.

Re: Transfer of (my domain)

Dear Go Daddy Customer,

Go Daddy received a request on 10/16/2012 for us to become the new registrar of record.

You received this message because you're listed as the Registered Name Holder or Administrative contact for this domain name. If you're not the Account Holder, or you're transferring the domain to a new owner, please forward this email to the appropriate Account Holder to complete the transfer process.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
IMPORTANT: If the steps below are not completed, the domain name(s) listed above will NOT be transferred to us.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When authorizing this transfer, you'll be prompted to provide the following Transfer IDs:
Transaction ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Security Code: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
To proceed with the transfer, follow the instructions here: (link)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: After a domain transfer is complete, you cannot transfer it to another registrar for 60 days, apart from transferring back to the original registrar in cases where both registrars so agree or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs.

If you DO NOT WANT the transfer to proceed, do not respond to this message.

If you have any questions about this process, contact us by email at support@godaddy.com, or by phone at (480) 505-8877.

Regards,
Go Daddy

Looks like a normal email from Godaddy, but I didn't sell the domain mentioned there, neither initiated this transfer.
What should I do now? Should I inform Godaddy about all this stuff?

Thanks, Nick

P.S. Received a minute ago 2nd same email

I get these from time to time. Just ignore it after confirming it is on lock at your current registrar. Sometimes people who are not domain savvy think a transfer is similar to a registration and pay for it thinking they can get it this way.

Too bad that they don't tell you who initiated the transfer.

The transfer initiation party's email should be listed in your Pending Transfers panel.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Well I'm happy that someone is interested in this name. It's the first person who is actually inetrested in it :)

There is no any info in my Pending Transfers Panel, cause domain is not at Godaddy, so my acc. at Godaddy is not "in the game" :)

Hi

in your original post, you removed the "link"

To proceed with the transfer, follow the instructions here: (link)

my question, did you "hover over" that link in the actual email to verify that it went to godaddy.com and not to golbdaddy.com?

as, after you copy and paste the phishing emails, the links revert to intended website (godaddy.com)
