Receiving Payment for Sold Domains

Hello Everyone.

When you sell a domain on this site - how do you receive that payment?
Paypal - or some other site?
Never sold here before so if there are rules - please let me know.

You can negotiate a payment method with the buyer.

Normally, paypal, escrow service e.g. escrow.com, sedo, moniker
direct wire.

That all depends on who you are dealing with (if you feel comfortable), and where your comfort level is. Escrow has a larger fee (I forgot the exact amount) so monetarily its not worth it unless it is a $1000+ sale but I've seen some people asking for Escrow (and the buyer pays the fees) for as low as $100.

LOL - Not testing - serious questions. Just got on here last night - and trying to get an Idea of how people transact business on this site.

They are good quotes.

I only know Bill.

Ebay is a VERY different Market.
Sales rarely go over 1K

I don't accept Paypal payment from a user who just registered in April 2009. Should be Escrow.

Neither would I. There are some members here who I would trust with a $5K - $10K transaction though Paypal - the only sad part is that I wouldn't be able to pull all of the money out and into my bank account.

You better know their pant size and what they do in the bathroom! Paypal on the business end can be pretty iffy.

I would like to say:

Paypal has always assisted me very well. I have always sold alot of items on eBay and have occasionally run into problems.

One time I had some truly crazy person threaten my life and the life of my family. As well as threaten to do other things to my family and children that I wont discuss here. (I dont have any kids BTW)
My Wife is a Senior States Attorney - and threatening her life was a step over the line. Additionally - he said that his cousin lives right down the street from me and that he was going to send him over here to harm us.
Paypal assisted me in my discussions with the Sheriffs Dept. in Cali where this guy lived (I am in Md.). And due to the violent nature of the threats, we were able to have a sheriff visit this mans home at 3:00am in order to warn him that if he continued to threaten me he would be arrested and charged with threatening the life of a States Attorney.
I have never heard from him again,
I must say that in this case - and others - Paypal has bent over backwards to assist me - additionally - I have never lost a dispute. Once I only got half my money back - but that is business.
Now, I have never had a chargeback - in which case - I will likely lose money. But - all in all - I have found PayPal to be very heplful in every situation I have yet to encounter.

However - with domains - I will be very cautious with large sales - and may now opt for Escrow.

Moneybookers is another very good option since Paypal (190) is not supported in all countries unlike Moneybookers (242). From a seller point of view you are more safer on Moneybookers than Paypal.
