amazing!
and WebDesign.net was sold for $20.000 recently.

Not a record no:

WebDesign.co.uk €37,756 £25,420 Sedo Sep 2005

Domain.co.uk €42,000 £28,573 Sedo December 2004

Not sure if domain.co.uk is the highest figure .co.uk sale to date, but it's higher than webdesign.

Yes, I forgot about that one. On this valuation though domain.co.uk now looks cheap!

I think WebDesign.co.uk is a better name than Domain.co.uk, personally. Still, awesome news for the .co.uk

You'll be upsetting those who have strict rules about length and single dictionary terms.

Perhaps your right. I believe it is all down to commercial value to the end user. Domain registeration value is low compared with website design, but don't know how turnovers from companies compare. Presumably registrars turnover a higher number of units, and of course they have almost guaranteed repeat business.

taste.co.uk - £110,000 ($198,625.66 USD + Vat)
shopping.co.uk - £50,000 ($90,252.77 USD)
three.co.uk £102,000 + Vat ($180,478.74 USD + Vat)

Egg.co.uk was also sold for over £100,000, I believe.

It would seem that domain sales in the uk are much under reported.

Thanks for those figures.

Is any of this recent?

I'm not sure when these were sold, sale dates weren't stated.

Btw, taste.co.uk was sold for £110,000 + Vat, not £120,000 as stated in my previous post.
