For Sale Register.com Unpaid Department

Does anyone know how long it takes for a domain to drop when its in the Register.com Unpaid Department?

That's a very bad department for any domain to be in.
I thought the answer was "never" - but they did release a large bunch of them 2 months ago. Some stay in that department for 2 years.
You can also call them on the phone, I hear they do let them expire on calls.
