Registerfly has been putting out some good specials lately, but their buggy system almost makes it not worth the effort.

First, I have been trying to renew 2 of my domains with them for over a month now. Still no luck. And the only response I can get from support is "please allow 24 to 48 hours for a renewal to be processed". Hmmm...I've been waiting 720 hours so far.

Then there is the problem with their support service in general. It's almost like they either don't respond at all or they don't read the support tickets, and simply hit a button to "insert general...but useless response here".

And if you do use them, watch your account very carefully. When there is a problem with a registration or other transaction that doesn't get completed (which sadly, seems to happen way to often) I have yet to have any payment refunded to my account. Instead, I have to send an email to support, bringing the issue to their attention. And then, if I'm lucky, I will be reimbursed.

And finally, I decided to take advantage of their latest domain transfer special. I paid for the transfers (still no refund on these), responded to the transfer requests, and then checked on the progress yesterday. With no explanation, the transfers have been cancelled. And to make it worse, I then tried to transfer the domains to another registrar, and I now can't...as they are locked due to "transfer in progress".

I want to give Registerfly a chance. Right now though, their growing pains are making dealing with them a very trying experience.

I can only comment on my own experiences and yes Ive had a few problems with renewals but support have always got back to me with a solution within 24 hours. They are not my favourite but neither are they the worst (in my opinion).

The biggest problem with registerfly right now is renewing an older domain registered when they were an enom reseller (they will not renew it at enom, but "renew" it by transferring it to their own new registrar).

If you do this too close to expiration the name can be dropped betwixted the two.

The other (older and possibly resolved) problem seems to be errant charges and people issuing chargebacks -- registerfly will sell off your domains if you do this (or did, the policy may have changed). Whatever you do, don't issue a chargeback if you have domains at Registerfly.

I must add: or any other registrar. When the margins they operate are so low, ALL registrars will lock/suspend your account once they receive anything, even remotely close to chargeback from you or your bank.
