It's true. Court documents revealed today confirm in the words of the defendant that Kevin Medina had a "personal and romantic relationship" dating back to 1997 with John Naruszewicz, the other guy claiming ownership of Registerfly in this ongoing recent battle over control over who is really running Registerfly.

Court documents available here in PDF form:
http://www.registerflies.com/docman/cat_view-11.html

See 'Answer and Counter Claim document' on page 8 at lines 16 through 21 for confirmation of their romantic relationship and how it deteriorated between the two of them in October/November 2006.

Then according the the court documents in January 2007 "as the parties broke up John became hostile and unstable. He also made demands for an interest in the company." Then Kevin Medina alleges that John illegally took control of Registerfly and ousted Kevin as CEO.

A sordid gay love affair. So we have that to thank for all the recent (last few months) issues at Registerfly. The truth is now out!

What a mess. Now the court has ordered Kevin Media to take back control of the company.

WHOA!!!

Thanks for making that clear!

Read the part where it says "romantic relationship" on line 16 (page 8) of that document. That clears it up...

I wouldn't have stated 'gay lovers' unless it was so stated in that court document that they had a "romantic relationship" going back to 1997 and had a break up last year.

So they decided to **** the domain owners instead!

Which brings us to the next issue...

exactly what was the $9000.00 escort service for?

He/she/it must have been very very good.

Wasn't Birdcage set in Miami?

not suprised...it is Miami

What year is it again...?

Give me a break... like their sexual preference has anything to do with it.

If it had been a hetero incident, this post wouldn't even exist.

This concern of many domainers over reg fly's trouble's had been posted numerous times.

The matter presented here offers some insight as to why the business partnership went sour and it appears that the gay relationship and breakup may have been a big factor in the demise of reg fly and the failure to oust one of the business partners.

Personally, I understand your concern over comments made regarding sexual preference, but I am equally convinced that had this been a man and woman partnership that also involved intimate relations between man and woman and the eventual breakup that led to this collaspe...yeah, it would still be noteworthy and worth mentioning. And, I believe it would have still been part of the court filings. Then the comments would be something to the effect, "What's the big deal between a man and woman partners screwing? Happens all the time."

The fact that this was a homosexual couple does not dismiss the fact that this was not only a business partnership but also a sexual relationship...man and man, woman and woman, man and woman...either way, the mention of this in court documents is perhaps a look into the fall of reg fly.

Unfortunate as it is, a sexual relationship or sexual partners may have played a key factor in this whole fiasco.

How come when I click on the link, it says server is down?

Is that a sexual innuendo?

"Kevin...no you didn't spend eight grand from the ICANN fees on that liposuction, oh my God!"

"Yes, I did John. It's all your fault, you said my ass is too big."

I also find it interesting how Kevin was so willing to sell a 50% interest in Registerfly to John for *only* $500,000 which means you could buy 1/2 ownership of an old established major registry firm for roughly just the cost of a dnf members house, or even less. It indicates the value of Regfly was very low at the time.

It's my understanding that after all this fracus, Medina has been awarded control of regfly?

http://www.dailydomainer.com/

GREAT! My trust and faith has been restored.

What a ****ing joke. Onward and forward we go with the $10,000 a month penthouse in Miami, the liposuction, and the $9000.00 escorts.

Seems like the only party in this whole matter that doesn't have any balls is ICANN.

Come one boys and girls...keep those 25 cent reg fees coming!

Wait till this hits the Drudge Report.

I went to register: "Registergay.com" and someone beat me to it! lol

Yes it would have.

When was Regfly offered for $500k (for 50%) ??? Sounds like a bargain to me.

I happen to agree with both Jennifer and some of what Doc Com wrote on this issue, I don't think its fair for anyone to assume that this Gay relationship was the main reason Registerfly went south, maybe it played a role and maybe it didn't...sounds like pure speculation to me. Personally I have nothing against gays, but its appears that some of you do.

Rumor has it that now that Kevin and John are out of the closet, the new Registerfly web site will feature "beefcake" models.

By Tom Thumb, AP Correspondent

It all started as a series of financial miscalculations, but it seems that domain registrar Registerfly, a company where anyone can register domain names, has been having skeletons in its closet for the best part of the past ten years. Its embattled officers, Kevin Medina and John Naruszewicz appear linked in more than the daily office routine.

According to documents provided to the New Jersey district attorney's office where the two officers sued eachother earlier this month, a ten year old affair between the two men has escalated into a war of public releases of private communications, some of which were leaked to celebrity gossip columns and online publications.

Allegations that the two men are currently blowing smoke in the eyes of ICANN, the supervising domain entity, have been met with anger by thousands of domain owners who have limited to no access to their domains.

Miami-based UDOA representative, Mike Rawtch, oversees a union of domain owners - or "domainers" - which has been closely monitoring such deviations of registrars from ICANN-sanctioned practices. "We are looking after our own interest and the interest of thousands of domain owners in the United States that are fed up with the inability of ICANN to step in timely and release the lockhold of thousands of domains," Mr. Rawtch said. "The situation with Registerfly is purely the tip of the iceberg, as we are now looking into streamlining the process of requesting loss of accreditation for registrars that simply use their funds to obtain personal gain in the homosexual lifestyle," Mr. Rawtch added.

Attempts to contact Kevin Medina and John Naruszewicz at their publicly listed phone numbers were unsuccessful. Voicemail intro messages contained music from Elton John's gay epic, "That's What Friends Are For" and personal greetings from the Registerfly officers' 10th anniversary party at the Florida Keys last summer.
