Hi there guys
Just wondering if any of you have ever registered a trademark in the name of a domain that you own to increase it's resale value and protect the name? Obviously it'd have to be a good name to justify the cost and hassle, but is this worth considering in some cases?

Thanks,
Francis

I'm actually wondering about this too.

It would seem to mee that the name has less value to an end user when a logo is added to the trademark (buyer would always want his own logo). If the trademark has only the name, I would think that the hassle of having to change the trademark owner's name would make the name a less attractive buy.

What if you buy a great domain, say jam(.)com, and later someone registers a load of 'jam' trademarks in the class of say advertising and communications. That would probably limit the use and lower the value of your domain.
