For Sale Registrar-Hold

Hi, have any of you guys seen domains that are under Registrar-Hold, but no WHOIS registrant name/information at all??

I'm going after a domain, and this is what i get when i checked WHOIS - the domain is registered several years ago with Register.com, and is expiring 2006.

I'm hoping that Register.com gives up the domain so that i can check it.

you can check old whois data to figure out who the owner is, contact the owner so they renew the domain before it drops and buy it from them.

of course, this carries the risk of the owner not wanting to sell the domain once they renew it, but if the domain is good you'll still end up spending less on it from the owner than from the auction.

Register.com does that all the time, ring. They don't follow ICANN rules for some strange reason.
