Very Comical. . .

VERY true unfortunalely.

NOTworksolutions is just as bad.

I am trying to transfer a name away from them.

Attempt #1: Transfer rejected. Reason: Name on registrar lock

I figure that maybe it is past due, so I do not think anything of this. Note: The name WAS renewed at $35.

Attempt #2: Transfer rejected. Reason: Name on registrar Lock.

Weird. . . Maybe their system takes awhile to update. I wait 3 days.

Attempt #3: Transfer rejected. Reason: Name on registrar lock.

-------> I call NOTwork Solutions. The lady assues me that the name is not on registrar lock and to try again.

Attempt #4: Transfer rejected. Reason: Name on registrar lock.

--------> Call NOTwork solutions again. Guy assures me the name is NOT on registrar lock and states that my previous attemps to transfer were because the name was expired. I assure him that is was not and that the name was current. We both look at the WHOIS record and think that it should work. He says to try again and says "It *will* work this time."

Attempt #5: Transfer rejected. Reason: Name on Registrar Lock

--------> Call NOTwork solutions again. The gal says that then name is not on registrar lock. I explain the history. She is like "Um, alright, let me go research it". Five minutes pass, and she comes back and explains that the transfer was rejected because there no approval was ever received. I said that I never received the apporval email and then pointed out that the admin email contact was correct. She said to try it again and that it should word.

Attempt #6: Transfer rejected. Reason: Name on registrar lock.

---------> Call NOTwork Solutions. Explain the situation again. They guy assures me that the name is not on registrar lock. He looks it up and says there was the approval for transfer was never received (I asked if that was the reason, why was I receiving an emailstating the domain name was on registrar lock? He had no answer.). I make the customer service agent pull up the WHOIS record and read me the admin contact email. Sure enough it is mine. I state that I am not receiving the email at that pop account. The moron says, "Oh, the authorization is sent to the registrant and not the admin contact". Being a (I think) saavy domain seller, I boldly challenge his bluff. He gets all defensive, but offers to go talk to his supervisor. Several minutes later, he comes back and says that I am right :D . He says everything looks like it should work and to try it again.

Attempt #7: Transfer rejected: Reason: Name on registrar lock

--------> Call NOTwork Solutions. Explain the sitaution. The guy is clueless. She says everything looks fine and to try it again. I refuse and and said that this process is obviously NOT working. He puts me on hold and returns after awhile. Then he explains that the transfer is not being approved. I again state I am not receiving the approvals. He offers to research it more. Another 5 minutes on hold and he says "There is nothing furhter I can do. I will have to escalate it to our transfers department." No explanation, just that it was being escalated. I was assured that I would hear something within 24 hours. Also, he asks me "Why are you transferring the domain name to another registrar?" (this is comical in its own right  - like you even need to ask)

[48 hours pass]

Email received from the Escalation department. "The problem with your domain name has been fixed. Please initiate the transfer again." No explanation, just to initiate the transfer again.

Attempt #8: Transfer rejected. Reason: Name on registrar lock.

------> Call NOTwork solutions. Rehash everyting. They assure me the name is not on registrar lock. They also again say there was not response given to the transfer request. Again, I vehemently deny ever getting an approval email. The lady asked what my email address was. I made her pull up the WHOIS record and read me the ADMIN contact email. She asked "Why do you want to know the admin email contact?. The approval is sent to the registrant." I again, protest this. She puts me on hold to check her misinformation. When she returns, she tells me that I am correct and apologizes. Again, I have her read the admin contact email to me, which is my email address. I tell her that my case was escalated before and that it should have been fixed. She puts me on hold. When she returns, she says that my email address is not attached to the domain name record and that was why I was not receiving the approval emails. I was like "Excuse me? My email address is listed as the admin contact, how can it NOT be attached?". She did not have an answer and said she would again escalate the issue to the transfer department.

[24 hours pass]

The escalations department said the problem was fixed (bear in mind, they never started what the problem was - just that it was fixed whatever it was). I was instructed to initiate the transfer again.

Attempt #9: This is where I am now. Stay tuned for any more late breaking news on this nightmare.

I have been woking on this for like 8 weeks now. *ugh*

Well, the transfer did finally go through for Inca.net.

Geesh. 9 tries, 5 telephone calls and a bunch of headaches later.

And they wonder why they are losing market share.
