Which are the most secure ones with no affiliation to the U.S.?

Gandi is nice, French registrar with an English interface. Quite expensive as they charge 14 euros I believe. They do not have any kind of connections with dropcatchers if you know what I mean.

All are affiliated somehow, because the .com and .net registry is in the U.S.
