PM sent

I have had many people asking me the names of the sites that are for sale. Although I will not be divulging the identity of the sites publicly edited (we have changed this so that people will undertsand the scope of what they are purchasing), I have temporarily redirected the following domain name to the main site for the purpose of this thread (www.3nic.com). The PDQ version of this site is found at the .net version of the same domain. Also you may find the new site that is built and waiting to be launched at the domain name.com/drams. iIrealize I was a little shy on the details at the onset. Mainly this is because they have not all been gathered in one place. I am in the process of gathering more details so that all interested parties may know more fully what they are looking at. I will post further to this thread as details are gathered.

Ok folks. Here it is. The decision has been made and this set of 3 extremely high profile sites is officially up for auction on eBay. The domain names themselves are worth thousands and tens of thousands have gone into building a brand around these sites over the past few years. You can find all of the details here. please post all questions either here or at the aauction itself as these are the only two venues that will be used to answer inquiries.

Thank you.

I don't see anywhere that you've disclosed your monthly or annual profit from sales. This is a fairly complex set of numbers you've shown, and it would be a lot better if you could share profit numbers, since valuation is highly dependent on that number.

I tried to give as many numbers as possible so that all would be able to see what these sites are making. i suppose it would have been better to give yearly totals but these have not been figured out in detail. One thing I can say is that the month of September is an average month and that the summer months are slower and the winter months are stronger. The amount of money and traffic generated for September 2004 through parking was not included. An amendment to the auction will be made to reflect these numbers. A synopsis of this is here:

Landings: 35,438 Results: 30,623 Revenue: $415.32

Does revenue equal profit? Or, is that the selling price for domains, and then you make $1-2 per domain from that. Trying to determine what the profit is on average per month. Thanks for the info.

I am slightly confused: how does $415/month which you said is an average month, equal $200/K a year? Where else is the rest of the revenues coming from?

We have not expicitly broke down the actual profit from sales because we have not calcualted it. In lieu of this information we have given all of the statistics necessary to formulate this info. For clarification purposes Revenue is the total amount of money generated from domain name registration and renewals. The actual profit margins on a domain name registration varies depending on TLD, duration of registration, method of payment, and whether or not the domain name was an expired renewal.

The $415/month equals the amount of profit that is generated through domains people have registered with us and are parked on our PPC pages only. It was a number that was not included in the original auction and has nothing to do with anything that was previously written in this thread or the auction. It is on top of everything else that was mentioned.

A question was asked about the Alexa ranking of Dnbuy.com and why it was so low. Here is the answer that was provided.

Dnbuy.com is the main site users have been using for over 3 years now. Although DNbuy.com was great for those who had a small number of names, the problem was that once we got really big, we had more and more customers asking to view multiple domain names through one central log-in ID. Our answer to this request was to launch Dnbuy.net. This allowed customer who had hundreds of domain names to create one account with one log-in ID at Dnbuy.net. We then moved all of their domains into their account at Dnbuy.net. We also informed our customers that they could consolidate all of their domains under one account by following the same procedure.

The net result of this is that more and more of customers moved from Dnbuy.com to Dnbuy.net. This has resulted in a dropping of our Alexa ranking at Dnbuy.com from under 100K to where it is now 135K. You will notice however that the ranking of DNbuy.net is a resepectable 235K. Dnbuy.net currently makes up half of our sales volume and has over 13,000 domains under management whereas Dnbuy.com has only 8, 000 domains under management. Once these two sites are merged under the new DRAMs system I expect you will see a considerable jump in this ranking to approximately 50-70K.

I hope this answers your question. If you need anything else please do not hesitate to ask in this thread, at the auction or contact me directly.
