Good suggestion, Michael! I have "Today's Posts" bookmarked, and it is the first page I visit on DNF. I'm mostly interested in the domain-related discussions, so removing the politics section is something I would endorse. People interested in political or controversial discussions could still directly go to that section through the DNF home page.

After being away for a few months and only returning last week I was amazed at the percentage of posts that now seem to have little if anything to do with domaining (and I am a political animal to say the least). Surely it would be possible just to have domaining and domaining related threads available only on todays posts?

As an aside, the world of domaining certainly seems to have changed in the few months I was off, is this just me looking through rosey coloured specks at the not so distant past or have things actually changed that much?

Oh one last thing, I see people do not go into the chatroom anymore, I have visited it 17times over the past few days and not once has anyone been in there. Ah well, I guess not everything has changed.

Perhaps it would help if we could have a vB hack that actually renders posts in Off Topics (e.g. Political threads) a NEGATIVE post count, along with a deduction in DNF$. LOL!

But seriously, I don't see how showing political threads in today's posts interferes with the day to day business on this forum. Maybe somebody can explain how it does.

Also, if your going to remove the Political/Controversial forum from Today's posts so we can have "domain-related discussions" only, your going to have to remove the Humor section, Sports section and other non-related forums as well.

That ought to really liven DNF up... lmao.

I'm in favor of removing the political postings.
After all, this is DNForum not "YellowJournalismForum"

The problem is this is a domaining forum, people come here to buy and sell domains, not to argue about politics. Nothing wrong with that if you mostly post in the politics section, but it shouldn't be in the today's posts. Few people here would like to see all the heated political discussions when checking out the latest domains for sale.

I made this suggestion awhile ago. They do it over at DS so it can't be to hard to implement.

I think its a great idea...there's hardly any worthwhile posts there now anyway since Raider has taken control of that area with her "love Bush and bash Obama and anyone who supports him" postings.

I'm going to have a look into doing this and see if it makes sense.

Thanks!

Ideally each member should be able to 'exclude' particular sections of the forum by their own choice...

just my $0.02 on the subject...

Maybe you guys should check the "subscribe to this forum" option. Under the "forum tools" link in every subforum.

I have removed the Political section from showing up in "Today's Posts".

Let's just test it out and we'll see if & how it works out.

It's only a test ;)
