This domain refers to the West's ally Republic of Georgia in Transcaucasus, not to confuse with the state of Georgia. What would it be worth?

Republic of Georgia has about 7mn population, that is a size of a big city. RepublicofGeorgia.mobi is a country name domain (like say Andorra.mobi), though their population is not too rich. Almost all country .mobi names are reserved by mTLD, and will be auctioned off at high prices gradually, according to my info. But I don't need much for RepublicofGeorgia.mobi. :)

Hey! Isnt that close to Texas!? hahaah
I think it would do good considering travel companies that would like to have you put their ads on your site. Dont know if Republic of Georgia would like to claim it as theirs. Long, but it states the whole location. I think it would show up in mobile search engines "after" the state of Georgia! lol

Thanks for your opinion, MobileDomainer... Any more opinions, gents?

Way too long to type on a mobile phone. It's worth reg fee IMHO.

$10...its long and not a true "country" name...everyone refers to it as Georgia.

And I thought everyone refers to the state of Georgia in the US as "Georgia" and to the country in Transcaucasus as "Republic of Georgia". It is the official name for that country.

According to this link: https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/gg.html

You are incorrect:
conventional long form: none
conventional short form: Georgia
local long form: none
local short form: Sak'art'velo
former: Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic

Either way its not worth much.

Well... this reference is true (may it be that it is obsolete however;)?), but then, how to distinguish Georgia in Transcaucasus from Georgia in the US? ;) I don't see any other way than by calling US Georgia merely Georgia and Transcaucasus Georgia "Republic of Georgia".

Also, Wikipedia article says that from 1990 to 1995 the country of Georgia was called "Republic of Georgia": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_(country)

Any way you argue it out, it's just one of those names that doesn't apply to the .mobi extension.
I don't know what this site would offer visitors, but if there is demand for it, it should already be offered in a different extension.
When you think .mobi, think entertainment and quick purchases.

Exactly. It was, but it isn't anymore.

With your logic you could just as well register provinceofgeorgia.mobi or georgiacolony.mobi to refer to the U.S. state.

0-regfee

Well, Georgia was province and colony long ago... and it really had a provincial status. Ref Republic of Georgia, it just changed its name in 1995 (not the status). Perhaps their rulers did this so the country has exactly same name as US Georgia.

(may it be that it is obsolete however;)

I hope the CIA website has it up to date...lol

Just accept it and move on, this name isnt a very good one.

Sorry/

it was not easy to find an end user to this kind of domain name, so ... regfee

I don't think it's worth reg fee. Georgia is the official name for that country, but just how to distinguish it from the US state of Georgia when it comes to domains?

it me seems to me that is one of those dicussions in which the owner doesnt like feedback thats negative in terms of value of the domain and keeps bringing the same arguments, although valuations come from pros and senior members, instead of insisting that your 23 letter mobi domain is worth anything it would be more beneficial to use the opinions and not register bad domains again

Hey, it is not 23 letter domain... it has only 17... but I agree it doesn't cost much, however why do you guys believe it is worth just regfee? Perhaps mid $xxx?

only if you can find someone who is willing to pay $XXX

mid $xxx ? honestly why? a domain that just got registered that everybody tells you has basically no value should sell for $500? so the question is not why is it worth regfee, the question is where should that value come from? does it have traffic? is it something that people need frequently on their cellphone? .biz AND .info are still available..that should show you right there that the value is $0

lol, maybe someone is willing to pay $xxxx
but who need it?
