Does anyone know so far who has applied for these?

Just how much are these Worth today and in the future?

How much do you think these will go for ?

...and finally, is it wise to reg something like "SuperRingtones.mobi" to cater for alternatives ? Lets face it, many will apply but only one will walk away these..:bolt:

I dont think any domainer in their right mind would apply for one of these as theres the massive fee to pay just to apply, then you'll be up against the likes of big us corporations that will obviously get the name making mr domainer $$$ out of pocket .mobi registry richer and big corporation boss even fatter! There's no way they would ever choose a domainer over a large company unless large bribes were handed over etc, hmmmm reminds me of the .eu disaster! LOL

It will give a good idea of what big companies are interested in .mobi, how much they are willing to spend on development, and the general importance of .mobi domains.

Sorry mate but you've missed the boat there! 3G has been out for years! 4G is the next stage in 2007/8!

Yeah, MobileTV is the next phase we will see in 4G. MobileTVRingtones.mobi would be a very good domain.

the more I think about it, it's brilliant for them to offer these premiums through a request for proposal. This pretty much guarantees development, and promotion of high profile .mobi's. Instead of them having been bought in the landrush and only parked. If these .mobi's start getting traffic, people will familiarize with the extension and wonder what other mobi sites exist, and maybe start doing 'type-in' and direct navigation with mobi's.
