Although I support the democrat/liberal side of politics, I'd be more inclined to say that acronyms don't serve well the bashers of either side. But I am prepared to eat my virtual hat if you do get money from the dirty politicians! :-D

Personally, I agree, but I could see why others might think different. Strangely enough those that are rather into politics tend to have quite a bit of $$$$$$$. With that said, I could see a democrat with heavy pockets finding it rather amusing forwarding rnc.net to democrats.org. I obviously have no idea yet how many type ins the domain receives and I do not expect the type ins to be substantial, but hopefully you get my point.

But since it's a .net, it relies on branding and promotion "Visit us for the truth at RNC.net" and not on type-ins. So there is an inherent danger, of negative publicity (against the dems) and of failure to generate response and clicks because it's not a .com - let's not forget Dick Cheney's gaffe with the .com/.org mixup

The value of the domain increases when you consider the fact that the Republicans own gop.com, gop.net and gop.org as well as rnc.org and I am fairly confident in my investigation that rnc.com is owned by someone with Republican ties. Although a .net is not nearly as valuable as a .com it still is a globally known extension and therefore a possible "threat." It will get some type ins. If you ever develop radistar.com, you would be rather irritated if someone developed an anti-radistar site at radistar.net

I don't doubt that you can try to sell it as I mentioned; my point was to assist you realize that a SEO-savvy chief of political campaigns would take into account that nobody would go to RNC.net thinking it's a GOP web site by default. They would go to RNC.com which currently is a PPC gateway.

As for the "radistar" paradigm, I was careful to register all TLD's of "radistar" when I changed from my prior identity of "timechange.com" :-D

As far as rnc.com goes, it is currently a ppc gateway, but I exchanged e-mails with the owner prior to bidding on the auction.
