According to Sedo's front page Russia.com has been sold for $1,500,000 USD.

The whois info shows that the domain is still with Sedo transfer service, but it should change hands soon since Sedo has already announced the sale. It'll be exciting to see who the new owner is.

Good sale? Well worth it at least. I won't even try to guess what the current website's yearly revenue is.

Great Domain - $1,500,000 USD not too much.

it always amazes me how people that will NEVER see a million on their bank account qualify 1 million + sales or a buy as "not much"

How many people or companys are there in the world that CAN afford 1 million+ ? I think its less than 1%

1%? In a dream world maybe.

a lot of people can afford to pay 1 million or more for investments , that does not mean they actually have 1 millon in the bank but rater loan it etc

I think domains are still incredibly cheap if you compare them to something like real estate. Russia.com has incredible potential! a $1.5mil building wouldn't bring you as much revenue as this domain is capable of IMO

(Moscow's housing stock is almost exclusively apartments, with prices listed in U.S. dollars and sizes in square meters.)

Prices are significantly higher for new construction, which does not have a sense of history but offers security features, like underground parking with private elevators, that appeal to wealthy buyers.

The area around Ostozhenka Street has the highest concentration of these buildings, and prices there are as high as $15,000 per square meter for what is known as "shell and core" - an unfinished unit with basic plumbing. Completing the apartment is the buyer's responsibility and can cost from $1,000 to $3,000 per square meter.

Olga Bogoroditskaya, a real estate agent from Kirsanova Realty, recently showed such an apartment on Korubeinikov Lane, off Ostozhenka Street. The "shell and core" penthouse, of 297 square meters was on the market for $18,000 a square meter.

Russia.com went on the cheap. Like, really cheap.

2006. The good old 2006, when I was still good for 800kus$ cash on the bank

2009 - Russia nearly bankrupt, even since today "there is no limit" Dubai

Its good the domain market is not paid with virtual bids, Seeing the reactions in this thread, I must assume it was a bargain, every replier was willing to pay 1.5 million, "if they had money"
